I’ve been thinking about Nora Ephron all day. By all accounts, she lived her life well.
The Summer Day is by the great poet, Mary Oliver. Illustration by Lisa Congdon.
Ah, Mary Oliver. As I’ve found myself unexpectedly in flyover country for the past few years (first in a dingy apartment in a rust belt city, and then, two years ago, in the middle of the cornfields), I have loved this poem: http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2008/10/14
I should plan to think more poems like this. Doing is the most overrated thing there is.
