What’s Blooming in Your Neighborhood?

Jessica Lichtenstein

In L.A, we have the luxury of colorful year-round foliage, but I still get giddy with the annual spring burst of purple from the Jacaranda tree. What’s it look like where you live?

Peonies are budding here in Kansas City!

Peonies are in bud here (Princeton NJ) too — well on track for blooming around Memorial Day, as my grandmother taught me they do (and they manage to adhere to that schedule regardless of the vagaries of spring temps)

My New England brother tells me there might be a frost tomorrow, and people were told to guard their plants.

Cherry Blossoms were big in DC last month. I just planted hydrangeas in my yard yesterday. A few minutes of playing in the dirt made the cares of the world seem to vanish!
