Problem Solving in the Dark

When I first saw this key tag, I found the message reassuring. It reminded me of those uncomfortable moments when I realize there’s a problem, but I don’t yet know the solution. I hate those moments. Through the years, I’ve gotten better at finding a way for those moments to be okay. I could also read the key tag in an ominous way. Like there’s something I should know that I don’t. What’s your take?

It calls to mind the saying, “The wise man says, ‘I don’t know.'” It says to me nobody knows everything. Everyone is ignorant of something. Which is reassuring to me. But yeah, I can see the ominious side, too.

Sadly, we’re seeing too many people these days who, instead of admitting their ignorance and trying to learn, fall back on arrogance.

The child in me interprets that as….there is infinite knowledge of really fun things and knowledge that makes us understand our world better and our lives. I have to be reminded to learn some of them.

This is so interesting. I definitely read it in an ominous way. There are things I should know. I don’t know them. That’s bad. But it’s even worse that I don’t know what I don’t know, because then there’s no way of solving that problem!
