These chicken pot pies take hours to prepare. I made them for a dinner party at my place on Saturday. And there was one left over. I’m so excited to be eating this tonight. What food are you looking forward to?
Looks like a labor of love! You must have made the crust from scratch, I usually take so many shortcuts for chicken pot pie like buying a rotissierie chicken and using pre-made biscuit as the crust!
I want to be on your guest list! These look stunning.
I am looking forward to homemade dark chocolate pudding, thickened with duck eggs (my choice for creamy desserts like pudding and ice cream). I’m bringing it to the monthly vegetarian potluck I attend. Not vegetarian, but I love this group of people. Homemade pudding is so comforting, yet decadent.
It’s less about thickening power and more about richness. Duck eggs have a greater yolk to white ratio. I could eat a duck yolk raw (and if there’s a little left in the bowl, I sample it!) Shells are a lot tougher than chicken eggs though.

I do make the crust from scratch and it is a labor of love. But my dinner guests were worth it. And of course, I got the leftovers!!

What’s the difference as a thickening agent between a duck egg and a chicken egg? (Sounds like a set up for a joke!)

I’ve never had one. I’m not sure I could eat it raw.
Nothing as good as those chicken pot pies!
They look incredible!
They’re one of my favorite food items, and a complete meal in one vessel.
