Yes–but only in the Pacific Northwest, because it is usually still cool enough to sit on the beach in a cardigan and read a book.

I enjoy being at the beach. I love being able to pull out a book, have a beautiful view of the ocean and feel the sun. I’m not a beach bum but to me that is taking advantage of a nice summer day.

I love the beach. Grew up a few miles away from one and was a lifeguard one summer. Unfortunately I do burn more easily now than when I was younger but I still love it. I love the taste of saltwater.

Oceans are pretty chilly in California, so I’m not very inspired to go in. But it’s a singular experience for sure.

We are at the beach this week. So far sunny and hot and lovely. The one thing that is so weird about this trip is normally I sit on the beach and dream of things that I am looking forward to and for some reason it’s not happening this trip. It makes me feel kind of cheated ):

What do you think is getting in the way?

Perhaps part of it is since I am retiring at the end of this year (quite early) I think it’s a different mindset and I am still working through getting my head wrapped around the idea of infinite time off. From what I understand vacations become less joyous once you retire. Or maybe it’s because I am not currently seeing anyone.
However I am really looking forward to and feeling wonderful about returning home tomorrow 🙂

I’m in the Midwes, so no beaches to visit as part of my everyday life. But I enjoy being near the beach or walking along the beach on vacations. I just don’t enjoy getting in the water. I think I’d really like the Pacific NW because it’s cooler weather. I’ve been to Florida in the summer and you just bake out there! I also love visiting Michigan for being near Lake Michigan!
