On Sunday, I woke up early craving a scone. I could’ve walked down the street to Starbucks and purchased a mediocre variety. But turned the corner instead to Trader Joe’s for ingredients. Back home at 8:15, I began working on the dough and by 9:45, I was savoring a cup of tea and a warm scone with strawberry jam. It was a most satisfying morning.
The scones look so good. Love them made with baking soda. But, I must say, your timeframe is equally impressive. That’s a very early Sunday morning.
This is a great recipe, made using baking powder. http://bit.ly/2GU4PW9
Oh Wendy, I knew I liked you. That recipe is my go-to for scones. And I lived in the UK for a while, so my scone standards are exacting! 😉
Thanks, Lauren. The recipe makes 12 scones, so I now have 11 in my freezer. Yay!!
Oh, Wendy, that’s sounds like such a delightful way to spend a morning! And I’ll bet your home smelled divine!
Eau de scones!
I am MAJORLY impressed that you still have 11 out of 12 scones left. I’d probably have only been able to put about 7 of them in the freezer. 🙂
The big payoff is knowing that scones will be there for me in the near future.
