On Saturday afternoon, I had a hankering for mac and cheese after reading a recipe in the Times. I’m fortunate that Trader Joe’s is just a few blocks from my home and I walked over to procure the ingredients. It took longer to prepare than I’d envisioned. I finally pulled the dish from the oven at around 8. As I took a moment for gratitude before diving into the glistening, gooey pasta, I thought, there could be no better way to spend a Saturday night.
That must’ve felt so comforting and satisfying to dig into a soul-soothing dish that you created yourself. I know you’re a good cook and I imagine that satisfaction you get from cooking somehow fills you with joy. Cooking is one of the ways I experience joy (and the satisfaction of having produced something tangible). Mmmmm, if I lived closer, I’d have sniffed my way to a dinner invitation!
Cooking is so satisfying and then there’s the eating! Particularly when it’s comfort food.
This looks divine! Hope you enjoyed it with a martini. That’s what I plan to accompany it with when I make it.
Perfect Saturday dare possibly viewing the second season of PBS’s Victoria which I adore and am catching up with.
Date not dare.
Dare is pretty interesting, too.
You know me, Jules. Definitely a martini.
Oh man, I love a good mac and cheese. That’s definitely my comfort food of choice.
Mac and Cheese is right up there on my list, along with lasagna.
