Michelle Wolf recently hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Here’s an excerpt from her HBO special, Nice Lady:
“I don’t want to have a baby or a family. I want a career. That’s what I want. And I know there are lots of people out there that are like… ‘But Michelle. You don’t have to choose. You can have it all. Women can have it all.’ Yeah. Stop saying that. You act like all is good. All does not mean good. You’ve never left an all-you-can-eat buffet and thought, I feel really good about myself. That crab and pudding is setting really well together. I sure am glad I went back for spareribs. All is not good.”
I LOVE that she has not apologized in the wake of fake outrage.
Michelle Wolf was on NPR’s Fresh Air this week. It’s a great interview. https://n.pr/2FxiyRb
She dropped so many truth bombs at that dinner! National hero!
I’ve seen it, and read it a few times now. It was really a brilliant monologue.
Having it “all” = Doing it all = No thanks!
It’s amazing how enduring the “having it all” pressure is.
“Having it all” is whatever I want it to be and therefore I have IT ALL to myself. This is what your forum does for my soul Wendy. LOVE! The posted quote is brilliant.
I thank the White House Correspondence Dinner for introducing us all to Michelle Wolf.
