Do You Paint?

Over the weekend, I ran into my Tesla-driving neighbor who was in the middle of painting his bathroom. I wondered why he hadn’t hired someone to do the work. But maybe, this was a fun way for him to spend a Sunday.

Wendy since retiring I have been on a painting binge! Choosing a color probably takes me the longest and when I can’t decide I end up with Antique White.

How do you test the color?

Wendy, I usually bring home paint chips and then tape them up in the room. Then I look at how the color looks at various times of the day and at night.
Sometimes though nothing screams “pick me”. and thats when I just say lets go Antique White. I did manage to get my dining room painted a lovely gold which so far I love!

I don’t like it but if you’re just doing one room it’s easier to do it yourself and know it’s done right than find and hire someone and check behind that it was done correctly.

You must have good technique. I can barely paint my nails right. I’m always leaving evidence of brush strokes.

Watched a lot of YouTube videos and read online tutorials when I did (light) renovations to a house I owned. I don’t find it difficult to do a good job painting, just tedious. Grateful the house I rent now came with nice colors!

Youtube videos have helped me do a lot of things I didn’t think I could do. But with painting, I really feel like I lack the requisite skills.
