American Hero

I feel such gratitude for the courage of Christine Blasey Ford. And, it’s a very sad day in America. My heart is heavy. How are you making sense of it all?

It is so overwhelming and mind numbing. Sad to see after “ALL” these years we haven’t progressed that far. Women are still being vilified in telling their truths. I too applaud Dr. Ford for her courage. I pray she will be able to move on from this and not lose hope in humanity.

This afternoon as I write this, there’s a pause and a glimmer of hope. I hope Dr. Ford knows how much her contribution is appreciated.

It’s all so sad and it makes me really angry, but I keep holding out hope he won’t get in.

This may not sound nice of me to say but his demeanor screams jerk to me. If he were a job candidate and I was hiring he would not be hired! Red flags!!!!

Apart from policy, where we have huge disagreements, his partisanship, demeanor and lack of credibility were big red flags.

Color me pissed off. And ready to drop the lady gloves* and be the bitch the gnarly patriarchy already thinks I am. I’m already subversive by being single and childfree, so I’ll just add the “B” word and I’ll wear it proudly, in place of those lady gloves.

*I don’t really have “lady gloves”, although it was cool enough this AM to wear my nice black leather ones for the first time since April.

I don’t even know what this is about. I have stopped watching all news and it is wonderful.

    • wendy says:

What made you decide to stop watching all news, Amy?

      • Amy says:

Well, I used to be a huge news junkie. CNN was my favorite show ever and I still have the hots for Anderson Cooper (I know, I know, probably not gonna happen but a girl can dream) News media has just gotten so bad that watching it does nothing but exacerbate my anxiety issues that I already struggle with. So I went cold turkey. My world did not fall apart. This beautiful open space appeared in my life that I now use to pursue my creativity. I now honestly believe if more people did this, or at least curtailed their news watching and focused more on their own creativity or just helping those less fortunate, the world would start to turn around.

It’s great that you’re pursuing creativity with the extra time. Watching news is a passive act and doesn’t make the world any better.
