These days, I find myself a lot less bored. I’ve come up with 2 explanations:
1. I’m now more appreciative of each passing moment.
2. I put myself in fewer boring situations

I never realized it until I read your post, but I, too, am less bored! That said, some academic presentations (and certainly faculty meetings!) are pretty dull.
Why do you think you’re less bored?
The wisdom of age and meditation. Sitting can be boring until you learn how to listen to the symphony of silence. Also, I think the most boring situations are when one must listen to people drone on and on, usually about themselves. Like at faculty meetings.
One of the upsides of aging.
