I never realized it until I read your post, but I, too, am less bored! That said, some academic presentations (and certainly faculty meetings!) are pretty dull.
The wisdom of age and meditation. Sitting can be boring until you learn how to listen to the symphony of silence. Also, I think the most boring situations are when one must listen to people drone on and on, usually about themselves. Like at faculty meetings.
