I spent yesterday afternoon sitting in a chair, donating platelets. It can be difficult to read while semi-reclining with one arm immobile, so sometimes TV is the best option to pass the time. There is real crap on in the afternoon, so my best option was watching US vs. Spain on Telemundo (I don’t speak Spanish). I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!

My city is doing a pilot program with scooters, and they’re a mess: some people ride them in the middle of the road, breezing through intersections and blithely ignoring red lights and multiple lanes of traffic. Other people ride them on sidewalks, dodging pedestrians and then just abandoning scooters in the middle of the sidewalk, where they’re a major obstacle for anyone with a disability. Maybe, maybe in a city with designated bike lanes where people had enough civic responsibility and maturity to be considerate they would work.

In other words: hey you kids, get off my lawn.

But seriously, they just seem so dangerous.
