Right before posting this photo, I was putting a stamp on an envelope that enclosed my hand-written thank you card. I’m stubbornly old school about this, despite knowing it’s a dying mode of communication. And then I spoke to my 14-year old neighbor across the hall who had just done the same for all the friends attending her birthday party.

Who doesn’t love getting a card in the mail? Thank you notes were drilled into me as a child. Often people who receive them comment on how nice it was, or that my mother raised me “right”. I recently discovered I have a stash of postcard stamps. Decided I’m going to buy postcards and drop a note to far flung friends I haven’t spoken to in a while.
How much is a postcard stamp these days?
A beautiful card received in the mail is such a treat. I save them! So much joy and such a simple thing.
You save them? For how long?
Thank you notes never go out of style, do they?
I have a box of vintage Crane paper, I love to write notes on:) And even tacky sparkle stickers to put on the envelopes ha ha.
That way people know it’s from you.
Displayed or on a table for a month. I keep selected cards for years, but that’s often because of the note inside. I have cards I received in college!
That’s beautiful, Liz.
