Love in the Time of Cholera

This evening, I considered making a quick run to the market in my neighborhood – until realizing I really didn’t NEED anything. With all the mental Zen I can muster, I’m trying my hardest not to think too far ahead about what life has become. And instead, I splurged on an overpriced hoodie, since we’ll all be living in our sweats. What are your best coping strategies?

Wine and prayer! And as much nature as I can safely experience. The sky is a delight.

I appreciate the support and warmth of this virtual community. Thanks, Wendy!

I remind myself that I’m not living in an active war zone (e.g. Syria). My parents spent part of their childhoods in the middle of a war, so I realize that things could be far worxe.

I also read the good news about the pandemic–people helping others, etc. And as best I can, I’m patronizing small, local businesses–they are hurting!

We’re now in lockdown in California, but I still have a comfortable bed and home to be in. So, I appreciate your perspective.

Today I bought a cute winter dress that was on sale. It makes me think of next winter and wearing it out to dinner with lots of friends and family 🙂

I think my way of coping has been to accept that this is normal (for right now). Instead of telling myself everything is on hold until after Corona. I continue to live, just within new parameters.
