I’ve been watching my way through Friday Night Lights. It’s soapy but the characters have come to feel like friends (great for quarantining alone!) and the soundtrack is soothing.

I just discovered The Marvelous Mrs. Maizel on Amazon Prime–fantastic show. I can see why it wins so many awards. And I adore Tony Shalhoub in this. Check it out. I tried to watch Fleabag but after two episodes, I had enough of it. I am no prude but it seems to me all that show is about is a narcissistic nymphomaniac who steals and can’t stop fooling around including with herself. I take it it is supposed to be funny but I just don’t get it.

The remake of One Day at a Time. Not too heavy; good dialogue and timely issues addressed. It portrays a family with good social-emotional skills.

Reality TV, my faves are the train wreck wedding and relationship shows like 90 Day Fiancee and Married at First Sight. I watch them and think how lucky I am to be single, happy and independent 🙂

Binged watched Vida season 1 and 2 and start of season 3. Now have to wait for the rest of season 3. It’s very good!

None whatsoever. I’m probably going to buck the trend and cancel Netflix. Apparently, they don’t support my TV anymore and I’m not about to spend money on a new TV. Yes, I can watch on my phone or computer, but frankly, I find that quite unpleasant.

I guess reading is my bingewatching. Finished Moby Dick and am almost a third through The Brothers Karamazov (although this translator rightly calls it The Karamazov Brothers). I’ve also read Chaucer’s People, a fascinating history of what life would have been like for people like The Wife of Bath, The Miller, etc. And I’m indulging in my love of old issues of Saveur. After many weeks of not being particularly interested in cooking, my bug for it is back! Hooray!

You are definitely more high-minded than I am. TV is part of my survival strategy. I can’t imagine you not being into cooking, and I’m glad you’ve found your way back.
