Maybe I sound like a broken record every year but I don’t view it as a day of only romantic love. Seems like a better view is just celebrates love in all it’s fabulous flavors. Maybe reach out to anyone or everyone you love and say, I love you:)

Valentines Day used to be such a challenging day for me. Now, I could care less. But I appreciate your expansive view.

I don’t actually hate Valentine’s Day. Yes, it IS corporate and the couples privilege is overwhelming, but I always treat myself somehow. This year, I treated myself to a cup of Mexican hot chocolate (I’m on a no-added-sugar diet, save for 2 square of 90% Lindt daily). I savored EVERY SIP! And while I didn’t buy myself a present, I gave myself an imaginary coupon to buy a book (also a treat, because I’m doing a No Buy year). Have to pick out that book carefully!

And yes, for me it’s a celebration of love in a general sense. A group of friends had a virtual lovefest during a group text and it was delightful!

I no longer hate Valentines Day, but I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it as a day of love, in general, as opposed to romantic love. Though my brother and sister-in-law always send me a card.
