My dog gets me. She loves me no matter how bad I look (though I do get an incredulous stare when she’s refused treats). One of my oldest friends gets me. Decades ago, when we first met, it was as if we’d known each other for lifetimes. One of my newest friends gets me. We emerged from different backgrounds and generations and yet have so much in common. With all of them, I can be me. It’s a most relaxing feeling. Who gets you?
