Last Wednesday, I mailed something certified mail. And I used the tiny rural Post Office near me. It was uncrowded and they were very nice.
I also enjoy mailing cards it’s like a little surprise gift in the mailbox. I can send a card for about 4.00 including the postage and seems like most people enjoy getting them more than their gift.
The art of sending notes and cards is sadly dieing but I still hope it makes a comeback 🙂
A very dear friend of mine sends me letters regularly and I react with joy when I see one in the mailbox. Alas, I reply by email. Perhaps I should order myself some beautiful stationery and reciprocate in kind!
I regularly treat myself to beautiful thank you cards. And I feel so good about sending them out. Petra, you’ll appreciate this – always after someone invites me to a home-cooked meal.

The mail is all junk mail and bills, its so wonderful to get a personal note!
It’s so rare.
I wonder what it would take for snail mail to make a comeback. It has happened with vinyl records, so you never know.
Maybe we need a national holiday “send a note or greeting card today”.
And if you think getting card/notes are fun imagine getting a love letter. Let’s bring them back too 🙂
It was because of one woman’s tireless campaign that we have Mother’s Day. So Gigi, you might have to go for it.
