I have cooked new recipes (e.g. fesenjan, Heirloom bean and potato cassoulet, mini rhubarb pie for one–and I was the one and I ate it for Easter dinner!) I’ve mowed my lawn twice–not something new, but with working from home, I don’t have to worry about what the weather will be at 5:00 PM). I have done some more walking that usual (and less cycling than usual, as I wait for this weather to warm up for good). And I read Moby Dick.
Trimmed my bangs and, surprise not a disaster. Try and do it before you need to take a lot off. Little snips are more forgiving. Got to admit was terrified but now emboldened! Little trims regularly will get me through to seeing my hair stylist. And, new respect for hair stylists who I’ve always marveled over. Now I bow down – a great talent!
For the first time, I planted leafy greens in containers on my balcony. I always have herbs, but there will be kale and lettuce this year too.
I made lamb shanks braised in red wine for Easter dinner and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve cooked in a long time. And I improvised the recipe! I was very proud of myself about that.
My hair is getting a bit organic looking. I now have a new favorite hair accessory, alligator clips, and you can even modify them into your own creations. A glue gun and some broken jewelry and next thing you know you’re wondering should I sell these on Etsy!
Why did I not know about these hair wonders?

When’s been the most challenging, and the most rewarding?
Moby Dick. For both. So much in that novel. I doubt I’d have picked it up had I not thought I’d be stuck at home for a while.
Next up: trimming my bangs on my own.
I’m not surprised about Moby Dick. Please report back about trimming your bangs. I’ve ordered a hair-cutting scissor and I’m waiting for its arrival.

Ok, Jules. You’re inspiring me.
My innovations are culinary:

How long will it take for your leafy green harvest?
I think I’ll have a few lettuce leaves this weekend! Not enough for a full salad, but a start.
That’s a great thing to look forward to.

Etsy sounds like a good plan.
