I’m so sorry, Len. My deepest condolences to you. Losing a mother is so big, so primal. My mom’s been gone a long time, and the feelings of loss have transformed into deep love and gratitude for our time together. Thanks for letting us know.
Thanks, Wendy. She had been in the hospital and rehab for a broken hip, but because of the pandemic, my brother and I couldn’t visit her, and she was terrified to be without us. Even though we called every day, she quickly went downhill. I’m just so glad that our last words to each other were “I love you.”
Covid is such a scourge. Be generous with yourself, especially now.
