    Hmm, I find it interesting that the artist still used the word “lack” implying deficiency. But perhaps that’s the point of the juxtaposition.

    However, I’d venture perhaps “Her disconnection to a permanent male figure…”

      She created it in 1979, so context is important. A woman then, without a spouse, was a radical concept even to imagine.

    the lady in the picture has a strong body, why cant they just show a normal size woman as an independent figure instead of an Amazonian. I understand the artist wanted to make a statement, but it would have been very eye catching to see a petite lady.
