Scattered through the debris of dating, I have two stories of falling in love with men before I’d actually met them. And it’s no coincidence they’re both writers. I had one of those. His emails were delightful and interesting – in person, he couldn’t keep the conversation going for more than a few minutes. So disappointingly painful.
