Above is an excerpt from a letter F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote to his daughter at camp in 1933. It’s a good bookend to my recent post about fears. I’m adding to his list. What would you include?
Don’t worry about having enough friends on Facebook
Don’t worry about how much chocolate is too much
Don’t worry about wrinkles
Don’t worry about the relationship between a short haircut and getting a date
Don’t worry about being single
Don’t worry about your dog not forgiving you when you get mad when she chases the cat
Don’t worry about having to wear comfortable shoes because you messed up your feet with high heels in your 20s and 30s — it happens to us all
Don’t worry about aging — no one dodges that bullet
Don’t worry about your Internet addiction — there are plenty of great blogs to read, especially this one!
yes, yes and yes.
Wendy, the timing of this post couldn’t have been better. Thank you, this post was a tremendous help.
Don’t worry about that extra serving of comfort food. (You’ll burn it off with all the other worrying you do).
I found F. Scott Fitzgerald’s letter so beautiful and reassuring. It’s from 1933, and utterly timeless.
Don’t worry about worrying too much, as long as you don’t do it ALL the time. It’s normal. We all do it because we’re all human.
So true. Don’t let worrying about worrying become another thing to worry about.
