Grace On a Holiday Weekend

This is a glorious quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, who was born on this day in 1803:

“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

I loved this quote by Emerson so much I named my cat Emerson. “There is safety in valor.” Emerson is 10 years old now, and everyday I am reminded of that quote when I say his name. 🙂

Another perfect Emerson quote for this weekend: “Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air.” Enjoy the holiday.
