It was a quintessential California night. Immersed in a hot tub, framed by a eucalyptus grove near Santa Barbara, I looked up at a starry sky, and was blissed out. All I could feel was goodness. Back to L.A. grit 48 hours later, I’ve still got no complaints. That’s for another day.

Too funny, looking at the address on the postcard in todays picture, I live an hour south of Lake George and spend a lot of time up there because that’s where my sister lives. Sadly, Gaslight Village amusement park and the Gaslight Theatre no longer exist but Lake George Village is still full of the cheesy souvenir shops and arcades for the tourists and Adirondack campers looking for some way to entertain themselves for an evening. Brings back lots of memories from my youth when we would go looking for that sort of entertainment too.
It’s so cool that you have a personal connection to the artwork. (I love Ellsworth Kelly’s work.) I wasn’t sure if it was really an address.
Oh to be able to use a hot tub in the summer and not die of heat exhaustion. Actually, sometimes the hot tub might be cooler than the ambient air temp. 🙂 Yep…need to make a vacation happen…
I hadn’t gotten out of the city in a long time. And it was really great to get away. I highly recommend it!
