A week from now, we’ve collectively agreed to take a risk. I have it in writing. (You know who you are.) Beginning on January 21, we’ve committed to not saying anything negative about anybody for 24 hours. What makes it even harder is that we’re including ourselves in the mix. On a day that commemorates Martin Luther King, and the Presidential inauguration, we will be celebrating with kind words, or at least not unkind ones, and thinking first about what we say. This scares me, but I like it. If it was a marathon, we could train with short runs leading up to the big event. Any ideas about what else we could do in preparation, other than vent a lot.

I guess that means I can’t watch “The Bachelor” that night. Some of those girls are just too easy to mock. Well, so is the whole premise, but we all have our guilty pleasures.
I think we should consider taking on this challenge while rubbing up against the things that drive us crazy e.g The Bachelor. Isn’t that the fun?
Guess I can’t watch the news, listen to the news, or pull up any news websites, LOL.
I’m such a political junkie. For me, this will be the real test!
Oh man, a total media blackout. That actually might not be such a bad thing. 😀
A media blackout would be even harder for me.
I have two mantras to help me through this challenge: “Be like water”, and “Replace judgement with curiosity.” Hopefully curiosity will be more than just wondering why the person is such an idiot.
Good for you Kathy, for taking the high road. I’m saving that for tomorrow’s challenge!
I’m totally hooked on The Bachelor now, although I was late to that party; I never watched the first seasons. The absurdity of it is compelling. I hear there are drinking games where you take shot every time a helicopter appears, or someone says they are “falling in love” or “making a real connection.”
It must be a very short drinking game, with everyone passed out in the first hour. 😀
I watched The Bachelor when it first aired and the women (and men) looked like real people.
