Springtime

Hydrangea.Fong Qi WeiLast night, hustling my dog through the last walk before bedtime, I was stopped by the sweet scent of jasmine. I blissfully sauntered back and forth a few times, before moving on to the mundane business at hand. Breathing in this first scent of spring made me feel hopeful.

Contest deadline is Thursday.

Sunday I played tennis at the fantastic Central Park courts for the first time this season. While warming up I could not stop smiling. First real sign of spring in my world. Loved it.

Beautiful art, Wendy! It’s 85 degrees in northern Virginia today. I’m wearing a short skirt and short sleeves. Everything’s in bloom, including me!

    What a beautiful picture!

It’s still brown and muddy where I live, and we are supposed to receive 8″ of snow on Friday. But you can still feel that spring is on its way – it just keeps getting sidetracked.

I’m looking forward to wearing lighter-weight clothes and footwear!

Spring comes so very late where I live… but I have a windowsill full of seedlings (tomatoes, peppers, and basil) and I saw the tiniest bit of green on the catnip growing outside, so I’m hopeful.
