Almost every weekday morning, I have Café Fanny Granola for breakfast. It’s delicious and dependable. I like that. Are there routines you find comforting?
I am what you’d call “consistently inconsistent.” I’ll have a routine, rework it, rework it, rework it, then have no routine, then go back to the routine, lather, rinse, repeat. I do much better with sort of broadly drawn routines, like going to the gym four days a week versus going to the gym on specific days. The minute anything resembling “you should do/have to do (this),” then I’m not doing it. At least not when it was expected I would do it. This surely makes me a delight to work with. 🙂
I do find some comfort in routine but if it too routine it gets boring. So in work I like routine with with a little bit of diversity for a challenge and stimulation.
In life I like a little bit of pleasant spontanaity as well.
I like routine at work. It seems to get me into a more productive groove and sets me up for a day of accomplishment.
At home, however, I’m more of a “seat of my pants” kind of gal. I don’t know why. I just go with it.
It’s good to have a repertoire of both seat of the pants and routine.
I set the alarm early enough so that I can bring a cup of coffee to bed and read the NY Times on my phone. My morning routine nearly every day.
Love it!

I like your cycle.
Routine…. wake up, make coffee, fix bed pillows & snuggle back in bed, sip coffee & enjoy the laptop for about an hour.
That’s all the routine I get…the rest of the day is pretty much off the wall at best.
I rather enjoy all of the above.
Off the wall?! How so.

Even routine needs a day off. Here’s to mixing it up.
