That is truly optimistic. : ) I just joined the 50 club last week and was hoping menopause would jump into high gear. Instead I am still getting zits, just like a teenager! Grrr. I have one the size of a volcano just under my lip. Nice. Welcome to 50. I’ll take grey hair (and I do have a few) over acne any day!
Sadly I must be honest and say that the older I get, the less optimistic I get about the state of our world, the future of its inhabitants. In my personal live, I am slowly resigning myself to the reality that I will never remarry and that I will even find anyone to love. I have nothing left in my heart for men after my divorce and as I indicated on another subject you posted, I prefer my rabbits to people anyway. : ) But we must soldier on. Tonight I am going to my local community center (I am a support of our local theater group and I get seasons tickets) after a nice dinner out at a local Indian restaurant. I will settle now for the joy that comes from the little things in life. Any joy is better than none.
I can’t surrender to pessimism. I truly believe, as Martin Luther King so eloquently said, that the arc of history bends towards justice, and slowly but surely, we are moving the needle forward.

Congratulations, Paulette. What a milestone. I think I have more capacity for optimism now than I ever did. How about you?
