I like to cook, but generally hate cleaning. That said, in preparation to move, I’ve been purging, cleaning, etc., and I do feel accomplished after I get something squeaky clean…
I hate folding so much that I found a housekeeping service that doesn’t charge out the hind for it. My place is small, so that helps, but I managed to find a service that will fold my laundry (it’s not much, since I put my own undies away and hang what needs hung) and puts my clean dishes away for a reasonable price…
Yes, I do take pleasure in chores. Post-divorce I lived in a condo that I hated for many reasons. Now that I live in a better neighborhood, I am grateful for things like being able to park close to my front door, hang some laundry outside (but never the personal stuff), and change things that *I* want to change. Cleaning is a reminder that I am fortunate enough to have my own space and I should take care of it because it gives me joy.
My space isn’t large, and I’m a minimalist, so feedback from cleaning is immediate, and therefore rewarding.
I don’t get any pleasure from cleaning. I get a lot of pleasure from the results. In this little facet of my life, it’s the destination, and NOT the journey that counts, lol.

Laundry is one of the few home chores I don’t mind (except for the folding part).

Folding and filing are in the same category to me of annoying chores.

Excellent point of view. I’ll try and remember that, Kathy. Thanks.

My mother cleaned and cleaned. I would watch her and think, not for me.
