It’s the Season to Crack Some Eggs

Selah Time TumblrI’ve decided to go out on a limb for Passover this year by attempting the French Macaron. In preparation, I’ve read blogs, watched videos and got so wound up about it, that I did a test run. The initial batch was okay, but not noteworthy. My pastry bag technique could use some work, and I overwhipped the whites. Even as an experienced baker, this is a hard one. Any French Macaron veterans out there?

You are one brave woman/baker. This cooking challenge would do me in. But I’m not a baker except for the bittersweet chocolate orange cookies I made this past holiday season. One of the miracles I discovered was freezing cookie dough. So great to have a quick easy dessert ready to go in minutes.
Good Luck! And may healthy martini consumption help the process along.

Bonne chance! Sounds challenging, and I admire your patience.

Macarons are high on my list of desserts I’d like to attempt. I can’t seem to get my motivation to make these treats to coincide with a low humidity day in Houston.

    Cheers!

There are so many variables and so little wiggle room. There’s no way I would tackle these if I didn’t need to bring a dessert without butter or flour.
