We’re in the midst of one of the worst droughts on record in California, and I should think about it more while luxuriating in the shower. I’ve grown accustomed to never keeping the water running while brushing my teeth, but I flush the toilet more often than is advised. I wonder whether I ought to be rinsing my plastic orange juice container before recycling. I need to pay attention.

Apple unveiled its new iWatch today. Right now, it may not seem like we need one, but resistance is futile. We will all be wearing some sort of gadget like this eventually. The iWatch won’t hit stores until early 2015, but with a very sleek design and a range of band styles, it’s going to be a huge hit. Sign me up.

There’s a wonderful documentary from 2010 about Joan Rivers called Piece of Work. Until I saw it, I had no idea of her relentless drive and hustle. She refused to give up or give in. And that was part of why Joan Rivers was relevant until her last breath. I really admire that. What a pioneer. What a life.
