I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, I know that I’ve never related to men in the same kinds of ways that all of my girlfriends did. I’ve always found it relatively easy to become friends with men, but really, really difficult to take it to the next step. Plus, my mom has told me about a million times that I had quite a noticeable independent streak since I was a toddler.
My mom wanted me to be independent and I got the message loud and clear.
LOL – My mom didn’t have any particular desire to have a child that was so independent, and she certainly wasn’t ready for me when I arrived, 😀
