Sitting next to me at dinner this weekend, was an acquaintance with shoulder-length hair. She admired my cropped cut, and when I suggested she too could wear it short, the woman quietly admitted that her husband likes it long. On the inside I was cheering, really glad to be single.

Oh…this irritates me to no end. I work with a woman who has been married for 36 years and her husband HATES her short hair. Apparently when they married she had very long hair and now it’s almost in a pixie and he reminds her all the time how much he hates it. Ridiculous.
I’ll wear my hair as I see fit and I dare someone to say a word. Ugh.
Good for her for keeping it short, despite the objections.
Good for the lady who keeps her hair long for her husband!
Lately, I’ve grown out my traditionally short hair just for fun. I’ve been surprised how much I love it! I’ve been single and my own hair boss (well, aided by an awesome stylist) for AGES. Enter: New boyfriend. The other day he mentioned his preference for long hair, BUT said he likes my personal style and would be on board if I went short. That kind of non-assertive preference certainly seems workable…
Congrats on the new boyfriend. I like his non-assertive preference. It seems very open-minded.
