In Gratitude of Office Supplies

Adam Hillman.Post-It Aesthetics

The way I organize my projects is with 3-ring binders. On the front cover where there’s a plastic sleeve, I stick in some artwork that references the project’s theme. Years ago, I bought myself a sturdy 3-hole puncher, so it’s easy to file things in the binder. I love this puncher, and use it daily. And don’t get me started on post-its. They are everything. What’s your favorite supply?

Post-its. Definitely Post-its. My monitor bottoms are full of them. I put grocery lists on them, as they are easy to stick to the phone when I go shopping.

another vote for post-its. I am also very fond of binder clips, which have innumerable uses around the house (oh, and in the office too)

Yes, binder clips! You are so right, Robin. They serve as chip/cereal clips, keep the towel on my shoulders when I color my hair, etc.

What other uses do you have for your binder clips?

I use them mostly for ‘closure’ – bags of opened stuff around the house, like grass seed, bird seed, packages of crackers, etc etc. But I recently saw a video of other uses for them, e.g., to hang trousers by the hem from a regular hanger, use as a stand for an iphone or a charger, hold computer cables at the edge of a desk ready to plug in when needed, neatly store your ear buds (mine always get tangled). And I love that they come in so many sizes so there is one for every task.

I’m late to the party, but I have to speak up in behalf of the old fashioned pencil. I love ’em and keep them everywhere.
