Friendship

Jean Jullien

“The only trick of friendship, I think, is to find people who are better than you are—not smarter, not cooler, but kinder, and more generous, and more forgiving—and then to appreciate them for what they can teach you, and to try to listen to them when they tell you something about yourself, no matter how bad—or good—it might be, and to trust them, which is the hardest thing of all. But the best, as well.” ― Hanya Yanagihara, A Little Life

We need to celebrate friendships more. Good friends teach one, good friends support one, good friends serve as glue in the structure we call life.

I had a bad summer–a very bad summer. I doubt I would have gotten through it without my friends. I love them.

And yes, my friends are probably more forgiving than I am, but I have to say, they are probably smarter than I am too! But one has to be open to friendship and I find some people don’t want to be that vulnerable.

Viva la friendship! There needs to a holiday devoted to true friendship (kind of like a Valentine’s Day for friends).
