    I encourage you to read the featured article in Bloomberg magazine about the pharmaceutical industry. It’s very illuminating.

      I don’t take any medications and I think I am the only person I know (at least who is middle age or more) who doesn’t.
      At any doctor appointments they are always surprised too – they just don’t encounter that. We are such a medicated culture! I think in large part because it is profitable for the pharma companies and also to some extent the doctors.

        Thanks for the link. My brother is a doctor, and he and I are both minimalists when it comes to medicine. Pharma companies are scary, though.

        Wow, that’s some true evil greed right there. I am very grateful for the many many life saving pharmaceuticals we have available. And even the ones that make life better – I used an anti-depressant once for about 6 months and I’m glad I did. The profiteering on the back of the taxpayers disguised as charity though is enraging. I can’t understand the greed.

          There’s a circle of hell reserved for these folks. And add to that the cigarette manufacturers.
