Oh, we’ve had some storms (the severe ones were to my south, though more are expected this evening). A mix of hot and humid, hot and dry, pleasant. In other words, typical Midwest.
I LOVE rhubarb – it’s a very northern European food. My grandmother (north German) made a great rhubarb pie, and I always make a few pies each year when it’s in season.
I recently read a recipe for rhubarb stalks wrapped in bacon and grilled. Sounds worth a try!
Summer in NJ has been not too bad yet, dare I say. It was actually cool this morning. I hate the summer heat and humidity that we usually get.

And it was pleasant enough to bake a cake yesterday evening! Made a Norwegian Rhubarb Cake.
What makes the cake Norwegian?
I think it’s the combination of rhubarb and two sticks of butter!

Rhubarb wrapped in bacon and grilled. OMG!!
That sounds like America to me.
I’m glad it’s pleasant. Summers should be that way.
Boston has been a delight; sunny, warm (low 80s), but not humid. Ha – that surely won’t last . . . . !
For as long as it lasts, you deserve it!
