Indeed! I’ve got a luncheon date with my Ladies Auxiliary group (a Gang of Six I met at a meetup–a nice mix of single and married). I’m going to do some canning as well (pickles and maybe some blueberry jam–my local supermarket has their annual sale of 5-lb boxes of Michigan blueberries; Michigan blueberries are the BEST!!!) A sale on sea scallops as well, so perhaps a nice light dinner of scallops in lemon-garlic sauce (one of my Ladies in the Auxiliary gifted me some of her homegrown garlic, which I used to can garlic-dill green beans this week). Of course, I’ll be inside, as the high pressure is making things mighty hot and humid here).

And a cocktail, naturally. Just not sure which one yet!

BTW, I tried to avoid mention of the Republican convention as much as possible and I did a pretty good job of it. Key was to look to the upper right, not upper left, when logging on to the New York Times!
