Not much on the calendar isn’t a bad thing 🙂 I will be reviewing the written offer I finally got yesterday for the job I’ve been angling for for so long. (I feel like I need a spiritual holiday like you just had Wendy because the past 6- 8 months has been pretty stressful. I can’t even properly celebrate because I’m drained.) Hopefully put the ink on paper and then start planning my resignation (well, pick and give notice of my last day as I got notice Thursday that I would be laid off at the end of the year. It was a hell of a week – I also had to turn down my second choice job offer before I got first choice in writing!).
I had nothing to do and no one to see in September, but this weekend is Friday night bonfire, Saturday night dinner party, and Sunday yoga with a friend who completing her instructor credentials. October is jam-packed for me every day. It’s the BEST time of year in MD, the leaves change and there are so many festivals and events. Halloween is also my all-time, absolute favorite holiday of the entire year, so I always get excited around this time. Will be super quiet for me between then and Thanksgiving though. Guess what? My friend put up a Facebook post about taking herself out to a meal and reading a book and enjoying herself so thoroughly as she hadn’t been able to do that in three years since getting married and having a child. Ha! I practically do that every day! Enjoy your alone time, Wendy!!
I think it’s the most fun and most festive holiday of the year. Getting to experiment with a different look is always fun, and celebrating the things that go bump in the night makes it so different from every other holiday. it also comes with my favorite weather and fall colors of the year. Also, have you ever heard of family drama around Halloween? No! It’s just pure fun and creativity!!

Sounds very tense and draining, Claire. But also exciting as you’re about to embark on a new chapter. Hope you’re making time to celebrate.

Leyla, what do you love about Halloween?

That’s true about the lack of family drama. What’s your costume this year?
