Six Word Memoirs began in 2006 as a project of Smith Magazine, and has since become a best selling book and an ice-breaking tool used at gatherings around the world. It’s practically impossible not to take a stab at it, which is how I came up with “Single Life Much Better Than Advertised.” What’s a version of your life in six words?

Life in six words is tough!
But I’ll give it a try.
Sharing food with friends tops all.
I’m with you!!
Okay, one more (in keeping with the blog theme)
Flying solo taught me about myself.
Another good one. It’s a fun thing to do.
The inner work is what matters.
Very intriguing, Liz. I want to know more.
Wendy – I love your curiosity! We spend so much time (or I know I do) on the externals of our life, and yet the inner life is the most meaningful part of us. This time of year is so luscious for contemplation and meditation.
Here’s to a simple and still holiday!
Thanks, Liz. To you, the same!
Like brandy; gets better with age.
That’s a great way to live.
Lonelier than I ever thought possible.
Thank you for sharing that. Do you feel like saying more?
Hi Wendi — nothing very profound to say….Just another Christmas spent dutifully at a younger married sister’s home, along with my widowed mother = a bleak mood. I don’t see them that often (I live far away), so it really IS a duty, and frankly not that onerous a one, but still. Hollow at best, painful at worst. The troubles in the world make mine seem small, but I nonetheless will be glad to wake up on January 2nd with the “holidays” behind me once again. See you on the other side.
Duty has a real place when it comes to families. I’m sure they appreciate your making the effort. Is there anything you can do during your visit to make it nice for yourself?
I shaved my legs for this?
Leyla, you are so funny!!

Enjoy. A good word to remember.
