It’ll be colder than last year’s record breaker for sure (no El Nino) but I doubt we (in the Midwest will see regular records).
I don’t mind some winter. Yes, I tire of it by the end of January (as I tire of summer by August). But snow and cold and braising and baking seem to go together! I very much become a “nester” in the winter and enjoy it. If work deadlines don’t interfere, I often throw dinner parties (in summer too, but the dishes are richer in the winter). I also love the holidays, although there’s not always time to do the prep I’d love to! And the silhouette of empty branches against a twilight sky is gorgeous.
For FPS readers who are ready for summer though, remember that as of today, the days are getting longer AND meteorological winter is 25% over!

I might add that my comment pertains to the northern hemisphere. Sorry to be so hemisphere-centric!
Hemisphere-centric. That’s good.
We’re having a bout of much-needed rain here. It’s delicious.
