Bedmate

In the years that I lived with (cat) Lily, I used to shamelessly chase after her at bedtime and insist she sleep with me.  The groveling was worth it because Lily was an excellent cuddler. On the other hand, there’s (dog) Rose, who will be 14 in a couple of weeks and has always insisted on sleeping on her own side of the bed.

Food Union

I’m trying to think what food I’d be happy to wed and spend eternity with. It just might be cheese. How about you?

Weather Wimps

We’re having an extended cold snap in L.A., which translates to barely getting out of the 50’s. In some places today, there was a dusting of snow and hail. People (including me) are bundled up in their down jackets and hats. Even the dogs have sweaters on. How’s the weather where you live?

Material Object Envy

Last week in San Francisco, I stayed with friends in their beautiful downtown apartment. They’re both designers and I lusted after almost every item in their home. I recognize that envy is a spiritual drain, but I couldn’t stop myself.

Make My Day

I have a friend who loves to laugh, and when he does, it’s infectious. Decades ago, I got a “perm” (when they were fashionable) after highlighting my hair. And the results were horrific. I looked like Bozo the Clown. When my friend saw me, he immediately broke into peals of laughter. It was the perfect remedy. Who makes you smile?
