Name one thing you’ve put off starting because you think it’s too late? And then, think again!

Rose – my cranky, senior-citizen dog, sleeps a lot these days. And it takes much longer to get her fed and walked. But there’s no question about it. Nurturing her nurtures me.

It’s Friday evening as I post this, and I hesitated, because I like to end the week on a more inspirational note. This Time cover by artist John Mavroudis, lists the locations of the 253 mass shootings in America so far this year. Until there’s action on gun safety, we have to stay uncomfortable. It’s enough.
Here’s an excerpt of a statement by former president Barack Obama, following the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton:
“All of us have to send a clarion call and behave with the values of tolerance and diversity that should be the hallmark of our democracy. We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don’t look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people.”
