Passing of a Great Man

Such sad news. I remember tearing up watching this segment on 60 Minutes when it first aired, not knowing he’d be gone so soon. Elijah Cummings was a remarkable man.

Family Food Favorites

Growing up, I never appreciated the sophistication of my mother’s menus. It was a time when canned fruits and vegetables were the rage. But every summer evening at our table, Mom began our dinner meal with a first course of fresh melon, and every winter evening, it was ruby red grapefruit.

Reflection

As I head into Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, I’ll be holding this reflection in my heart from Kurt Vonnegut

Who’s Your Match?

Cocktail Hour

What a weighty week it has been, starting with a New Year’s celebration, and ending with a close friend who’s father just passed. You – FPS readers – are always on my gratitude list, as is another day with my beautiful dog Rose. Time for a cocktail!
