Starting this summer, I’ll be doing something new–chairing my department! Keeping the status quo without at least trying for the chair position was no longer an option. I made it through the election, the Dean, and the Provost, so soon I’ll be in a new position,learning new skills and the like. Of course, I am fortunate to have excellent colleagues. I’m a bit nervous, but then I think of your big career change!
