Just started The Wit & Wisdom of Mark Twain, a collection of his quotes. It belonged to my late father. I happened to spot it on top of a pile of books we’re putting out in a garage sale and snapped it up. The only other Twain I’ve read was Tom Sawyer in high school. Figured it’s time to sample some more. Only ten pages in and it’s excellent. Here’s one that turns out to be quite timely: “Tell the truth or trump—but get the trick.”
What a special treasure, given its source.
