LOL. Bourbon – manhatten, mint julep, with diet ginger ale, just about anything with bourbon.
The downtown library in Los Angeles offers a wonderful series, ALOUD, featuring writers in conversation. My friend and I go regularly. And beforehand, we sit at the bar at a nearby restaurant, eat tacos and drink Maker’s Mark Manhattans.
At times like these, I think to myself: Self, WWFD? (i.e. What Would Frasier Drink). Breakout the sherry.
Sherry was the big favorite in my parent’s house.
Maker’s Mark…but I found we have a distillery in Fredericksburg!!$
Wine. I’m breaking out a bottle of ice wine tonight to celebrate getting a fellowship position!

I’m with Stacey: Knob Creek bourbon with a splash of ginger ale. Mmmm, love that smoky flavor.
Love Knob Creek! I’ve never tried it with ginger ale. Sounds delicious.
I’m from Kentucky and am an ambassador for Maker’s Mark. It’s fabulous.

Maker’s is great but I love the smoke of the Knob…I’m a Yankee girl.

I am loving seeing all these fellow bourbon drinkers! My drink is definitely the Manhattan. When I was a kid, my mom would give me the cherries out of hers.
I’m a Maker’s Mark girl (I often drink Maker’s on the rocks with a cherry), but I also LOVE Elmer T. Lee. When I drink my local bar out of Maker’s, that’s what I switch to.
The Long Island Iced Tea has been a favorite of mine for years. But I’ve recently discovered Wild Turkey American Honey Whiskey, which has been giving my standby a run for its money in the last couple of months.
I probably should mention that I don’t drink a whole lot, but when I do, I do it wholeheartedly – life is too short for wimpy drinks.
I go straight for the hard stuff. It’s less liquid and more to the point.
