No Place Like It

Javier Jaen BenavidesThis past weekend, I flew to San Francisco where I stayed with dear friends in their sleek downtown apartment and slept on the couch. Ordinarily I’d pass on this sleeping arrangement, but I wanted to spend quality time with these friends who are really like family, in the best of ways. I had a wonderful time, ate delicious food, took in gorgeous Bay Area vistas, and still, it was a pleasure to return home to warmer temperatures, a spacious queen size bed, my own bathroom and the dog.

Again, love the artwork. It really says it all. Home is where we appreciate and deal with all the complexities of life.
So glad you enjoyed what sounds like a lovely weekend.

After a week in the hospital, home was the most fabulous thing ever, my own queen bed with my purple cotton velvet comforter, my own pillows, even the glow of my clock and of course, my guitars hanging on the wall. It’s definitely the little things.

I don’t have cable or satellite at home and I discovered I haven’t been missing a damn thing, either.

Lucky you, a weekend in SF. I grew up in Burlingame but haven’t been back in years….
