I adore this quote from Maya Angelou. It has so much resonance. Let me know what you think.
You should be angry. You must not be bitter. Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. It doesn’t do anything to the object of its displeasure. So use that anger. You write it. You paint it. You dance it. You march it. You vote it. You do everything about it. You talk it. Never stop talking it.

Maya Angelou speaks the truth here. Anger can be a powerful POSITIVE force, but if left to devolve and degenerate into bitterness, it becomes a worse-than-useless feeling.
It was reassuring to hear someone say that anger is okay, as long as it’s channeled.
What an extraordinary woman she was. Is it even possible to be that thoughtful, soulful, literary and eclectic in these modern times? So much wisdom; I’m so glad she had the voice to share it with the rest of us.
And such perseverence and resilience. I’m glad to have been around during her lifetime.
